Excuse the stupid question, oh never mind... you guys are used to them. I had a guy who worked on my machines for me.. he moved.. now I am stuck.
I have a direct drive 4000/4 running a general ez4040g pump, was my first machine years ago that I now use as a back up. Anyway the pump went out ( finally ). I have the replacement sitting right here. I have removed the 4 bolts, yet it won't release from the shaft. Am I missing something? Or do I just need to beat the daylights out of it? Thanks in advance!

Did you get it off?..I had a pump on my first unit and wanted to remove it to a newer honda..I got the 4 bolts off then the set and then the set fell in the shaft..long after all that it sits cause I think it has fused it to the shaft
so I still yet to get it off.I found a guy to work on it guess he dont need my biz cause he never called me back. And from that he will never get my biz or anyone I might know...GOOD LUCK

Yeah I managed to get it off with no problem once I gave it some clear thought. I was tired and had a very busy week coming up so I was working with a fog in my head. Hey, I appreciate you checking my post !

Is the keyway on the engine shaft in good condition?

It is common on direct drive units, for the keyway on
engine shaft to be oblonged / worn from cycling of the
unloader.
