Right now I am running 4.5 gpm for decks and houses, mostly residential.I have never had any trouble with not enough water.I have recently found a machine that would be perfect for decks.6 GPM ,2500 PSI,Belt drive general pump.I am just wondering if all you guys running those 5.5 Gpm machines, ever had any trouble drawing from a residential water source?

At time we run into situations that we have less than the needed GPM. Simple run another hose and run back into your float tank. Easy solution, you will have some overflow.

JR,

I run 5.5 machines, but I have a 325 gallon water tank that I usually keep a minimum of around 75 - 100 gallons in it. I have never had any trouble......I just hook up the water first thing when I get to the job and let the tank fill up sone.

I'm not sure if you will have trouble running dircetly off the hose.......don't have any experience with that.

I do not use water tanks and I was refering to the water float tank only. If he used the large water supply tanks, he should not run out, I would think.

We just did a commercial job for a new water treatment plant. I went with an empty tank. It took me 45 min to get 1/2 of my water tank full. And I emptied it in 20 min. So I do like Mike I normally go with a full tank then hook up to their water if I think that I will use more water. I just did a house this week that had real hard water. So I filled my water tank up before I left.
It worked out well. You could always use a 55gal barrel.
That would give you a little buffer. Just a thought.
