Roof Cleaning Question

Am considering getting into cleaning of Asphalt shingle roofs. However, most roofs here in Houston are very steep, at least to steep for me to walk on. Is there anything out there that is a spray on rinse off from ground level, or am I just dreaming.

I've down only a couple due to my vertigo/balance disorder....I understand it is very profitable with the right equip and chems.

I'll get on a single story house with no problem but 2 stories....nope.

Maybe someone else will chime in.

Yeah you can get a set up that you spary from the roof line. I run a 12volt pump 5gpm, after it quites I'm going for the air pump. Check out pressuretek.com they have complete set-up sold as a pack

You can setup a nice 8 gpm system for about $600 that will spray from the roof and cover a roof very rapidly. Once you get the formula down and a good pump, roof cleaning can be done very quickly.

I think I'm going to order a roof set up from pressure tek ,they seem to have a few different ways to go depending on how much you have to spend .What I'm using now is just to slow ,but it works and keeps me off the roof...

Hi guys, what kind of formula do you use on roofs?
We are getting started on roofs soon and would love some advise on whats good to use. Bearing in mind we live in Florida and humidity makes for very hardy mold. don't ant to use any pressure and don't really want to use bleach unless we have no other option. Does anyone out there use sodium percarbonate? as opposed to bleach? Any advice would be very much appreciated

Hey Jon, sounds like you passed your test...congratulations. I use SH, Water and Roof Snot as my surfactant. Havent found anything that sticks or cleans better than roof snot. Call me sometime if you want to discuss more in detail....

We are getting there Doug thanks, takes a while with the paperwork so just trying to get myself organized and ready to go with chemicals and such. So you recommend the roof snot, I did see this online and thought it sounded like a good idea. How long do you leave the solution on for? and do you just rinse off, no pressure?
Thanks Doug

I don't rinse, but you have to be careful not rinsing. I let sit till it's almost dry, and then reapply as needed. Remember, if it's wet, it's still cleaning.

Where do you purchase your SH and is it a more natural form of bleach, like sodium percarbonate? we didn't really want to use bleach, but it seems most people do.
Using this mixture, does it leave the roof clean immediately or does it carry on working, also how long does it keep the mold off the roof. I know this differs state to state, but you want to be able to say 2-3 years ideally.

Mine is delivered to me at my home. It is 10% Liquid Pool shock and I pay $1.75 a gallon delivered.

The roof is clean before we leave. I tell customers it will stay clean 3-7 years depending on the environment. Here some pics of a roof we cleaned today.
