Anyone have any new ideas or old ones regarding roof lights-I have used Wheat Lights-RayoVac head lamps and so on. My employees want Quartz/ Halogen. I can just seen the light after a 20 foot fall off a wet roof. Any suggestions???

Thanks

Hello David !

We find redundancy most effective. We have a couple of systems in use with good success. Currently we use rechargable Streamlights (Syclones & Poly Stingers) that we back-up with a 3 "D" cell Mag-Lite, backed up by a 2 "AA" cell Mag-Lite. The Streamlights run about $100 and the Mag-Lites are available packaged with the "D" cell & "AA" cell including batteries for $20 at Costco Warehouse. We try to maintain the lights at least on a weekly basis by a thorough cleaning and o-ring lubrication with a Teflon based lubricant.

For projects we use a corded Halogen Utility Light that work well on roofs and in ceilings, in response to your concern - they bounce well and don't work so well after bouncing.

All the same this continues to be an ongoing challenge...in Michigan we are fortunate to have the ability to payroll deduct losses and damages as long as the employee understands, agrees, and signs.
