at home depo they sell an angled 3 inch scrapper which you can screw into the end of and extension pole. Paint department. I use it backwards so is best to sharpen on other side.

David. ,
we've had to make our own, I have a few of the angled scrapers and there ok but they flex alot when they get past 7' - 8', the ones we've made we made out of pipe and flat sheet metal and then used a file to sharpen them up real good there a tad heavy but they get the job done. Now a while back (07/19/00) on the bbs sponsord by the company outta TX some one said they knew where to get some skil scrapers.

At the P.W.N.A. CKEC Boot Camp last month I learned about a Canadian scraper manufactured by Richards that is supposed to have an angled blade in 1" & 3" widths that also has a threaded handle. I will be crossing the border soon in search of this scraper soon and I will share my findings.

We have successfully adapted a "Mutt" floor scraper from Home Depot that has a steel blade that we have hammered into a curved shape for round ducts. The nice thing about the Mutt is you really get behind it, unfortunately it has a tapered hardwood handle that does not work well in confined spaces.

I got some information for you now, The tool i use is made by HYDE Tools. Vent chisel scraper angled at 20 degress and is 3 inches wide with threaded end so i can use with any telescopic poles in the market. I also have a 6 inch but i had to special order through home depot part number 12075 and yes they can order if they are not lazy through the company located in anaheim california.I mainly use the back of the scrapper when scraping the walls and i use the front on the scrapper on the bottom of the hoods when scooping the grease off.hope this helps

the tool i mentioned above with the part number can only be ordered through hyde tools the maker. No hardware store i went to had even a listing for it, and it took months for me to find it. Note the one tool i mentioned above is 6 inches across and sometimes it doesn't bend in the middle when you are scrapping the grease walls. The reason why i mention this is the sometimes the walls of the hoods are warped or bend as you use this scrapper so i switch to the 3 inch. It cost about 6 dollars and you can only order in quantities of 5 from home depot, give them part number and mention is made by hyde tools.

Ya, it's happened to me a few times before with my before and after photos. I don't think that some of these guys realize that even if it doesn't say that the images or the text is copywritten, you automatically own the copyright for anything that you create. Usually all it takes is an email asking them to remove it but I have had to contact a few hosts to get stuff removed.
