Sealing a mahogany deck

Interested in hearing from fellow deck contractors on what they have used with great success on mahogany decks. I have only sealed one years ago with Wolman F&P with unsatisfactory results. The sealer I use has version for such wood but requires applying by hand. Also what would you recommend using if the customer wanta a natural look? These oil based sealers tend to darken this wood type.

I do at least one mahogany deck a year and most stains will not penetrate it. A couple of years back I took a couple of pieces of mahogany and I tried a few different stains on it to see which ones would penetrate it. The stains I tried were all good quality stains such as Cabots,Benjamin Moore and Coupranol(can't spell but this stain is sold by Sherwin Williams) and non of them would penetrate mahogany. They would pretty much lay on the wood. And then I tried Superdecking stain which penetrated the Mahogany with ease. If you hold the piece of Mahogany eye level and look at the thickness of it you will see the superdecking stain absorbing right in to the wood were the other stains laid on top.
Super decking stains are a little more expensive then the others but they absorb into most anything. I use Cabots and Benjamin Moore stains for most of my deck and house jobs but for Mahagony Super Decking stain was the way to go. I buy that stain at a place called Aboffs here and I also think Sherwin Williams sells it also. I hope this helps. -JOHN-
