Just wondering what everybody uses for a gun on a shurflo pump. What you would recommend and not recommend. Was thinking about a old pressure washing gun and a 12" lance. What's everybody else use????

Any gun or lance should work, the tips are what you should look at. First what do you plan to use the system for? This should give a clue to the type model of pump along with the recommended tips for the selected chemical application.

Hey David, was thing of using it to spray the cleaner on roofs, and maybe some degreaser on heavy machinery every now and then. Just plan on rigging it up so I don't dilute it through the downstream injector. I've got a X-JET and know what it'll do, just trying to find something different. The pump is 1.4 at 100psi.

I use a short gun purchased from a farm supply store, these guns are like anything else they have cheap...good...and best. The best can be used for up close spraying (engines) with a wide pattern, they also have a strait stream for gutters and high work. I also have a X-Jet but the sure flow for me is easier on many of my jobs.

Steve, When spraying concentrated chemicals that are highly corrosive, which I suspect your roof cleaner is, you want no metal (except ss) in the system. Use nylon fittings, rubber hose, pvc wands, nylon nozzles and pvc ball valves.

For roofs, I use a straight wand with two elboes and a nozzle at the end. This is used to walk and sweep back and forth. For large areas, I built out of pvc a two wheel cart (plastic wheels & ss axle) with handle and a ball valve. Over the wheels is an aluminum bar with three nylon spray nozzles that covers 54" at a pass. The angle and size of the nozzles is critical and is sized to your pump. I use this on roofs that are walkable. E-Mail me if you want more specs on the wand and cart. When using the wand I get $100.00 / hour, and when using the cart, I get an unbelieveable $400.00 / hour. Not bad for a $40.00 cart.
