Has anyone tried putting a a shut off valve at the end of the pressure hose we swap wands on diferent jobs and instead of having to shut the machine off each time i was thinking it would be faster if you could just shut the valve off and swap wand and then go back to work [dog]

All you have to do is use an expensive high pressure ball valve that can handle the pressure. It is very convientent to be able to leave the machine running.

Not "expensive". Usually you can pickup a 7000 PSI valve for around $20.

I think this is a very common practice..

I put together a ball valve just the other day. I got the valve from a industrial equipment supply store. Together with the quick connects, it was about 40.00 dollars. It's a real time saver.

I just found this post. I have been using these valves for a while and have found that the handles break and the valve doesn't last that more than a few months.
I was wondering if anyone has tried high pressure quick disconnects?

Here is the one we use... Lasts quite a while and I think the knob turns easier than the others we've tried.....

I don't know if Mark has these or not. They are about $30.

Handles break when they get hard to turn. Take the valve apart and lube it with high temp o ring lube once in a while and they last a very long time.

Hi guys new here, my first post. I use a quick connect on both the inlet (3/8") and outlet (1/4") on my gun. They last quite a while, but the o-rings have to be changed occasionally. It is not hard. I have found that black and brown o-rings work the best. Dont use any other color. I dont know what the difference is but any o-ring that is green or blue has never lasted very long. Right now i am running brown ones and they are the absolute best.

Very handy item. I'm using this valve with quick connect with cold water for the second season. Still in one piece. I'm not sure how long it will last with hot water
After second season it's pretty hard to open it or close ... I'm pretty sure some lube will fix this problem and it will be like new again.
BTW ... buy one with way more psi rating that you need. Mine is 7000 psi max on 4000 psi machine .
