The chemical is call Sodium Hydroxide and you can buy it from UNIVAR/VOPAC or a number of other companies. The item is in a raw form and is a basic ingredient in most cleaners. This item will take the meat off your bones and should be handled with extreme care and education.

.25 per LBS??????? please tell me that for a half pound!

I mix 2 LBS. per 5 gallon container-with a little math that comes to $.22 per gallon.

Hey guys

After reading the post I have concluded that you are using Sodium Hydroxide mixed 5 gallons to 2 lbs. of bead and cleaning hoods with this? Am I correct? I am about a three year veteran trying to reduce cost now after learning about cleaning hoods. I have yet to find a good chemical to cut Mexican grease at the fan level. For some reason the fans are the worst. I give it everything I can and still have trouble cleaning them. Ant advise would be great.

Thanks in advanced
