the best stripper I have found is HD-80. Guy in STL sells it. very economical and takes off most everything. I didnt have luck with it on CWF-UV. Russells # is (800)336-7924.

I agree on the HD-80. It works well, and is in the powder form. It is very easy to carry around, and it mixes very well with cold water.

have used both. No comparison. I couldn't get Remove to work on anything except stuff like thompsons. Talked to Chris and still never could get it to work for me. You cant beat the HD-80, powder form and highly concentrated. Russ is a good guy and can answer any questions you have, use it once and you'll be sold and never want to use anything else.

Sunbrite is one of the top experts in the wood business. I would go with them. No question about it. Chris Detter is very nice and has the best products I have tried. Other than my own (he he)

Can someone post the prices for HD80 I got them from Russ before but it was right at the height of the season and I lost them.If it is as good as everyone says I will definitely give it a try.
I( need something tha willwork on almost evry situation.I am tired of looking for this and that.Wolman deckstrip is very good and takes off about 90% of the sealers around my area but 90% isn't good enough!

JR,

it seems like the price is around $175.00, depends on how much you buy. That is for 30lbs and includes shipping (i think), may be more for longer distances. THis stuff is the best. I took off behr semi-trans. two weeks after it had been applied. Worked first time with about 5 min. dwell time. I couldn't get Remove to work on two yr old behr. I couldn't get it to work on Superdeck. Didn't work on CWF. In my area, if a stripper can't get off these products, I have no use for it.

Russ tells me that HD-80 will remove solid stains. I've not tried, but you definitely must keep it off of doors and such. Comes in 3 gal. powder form, very economical. I figure it cost 1.50-3.00 per gallon mixed, maybe less.

Richard,

To answer your question, yes, you have to get it by mail. Generally speaking, there is nothing of a professional grade available in a hardware store, sealers included........with a few exceptions.

I have only bought deck supplies maybe three or four times ever from a store, everything else shipped.

Take care,

I have used exclusively Remove, HD-80, and Deckstrip. The Remove will work for most and hd80 works on everything. Be careful with the concentration you mix of hd80 as with any stripper. Flood will tell you themselves that almost nothing will remove CWF-UV, their own stripper included. I went to a "dog and pony" show put on by Flood and they would like to know themselves what will remove the cwf-uv.

Fortunately, I live very close to Russ and have been to his shop to shoot the $hit. His oxy base cleaner efc-38 does well on concrete and fences that are not heavily stained. He shoots from the hip and will not hold anything back. I have had similar results with sunbrites chemicals and absolutely love the brightner.
