Guys I try to get premium price for my service . And sometimes I wonder If my customer might share with a brother in-law etc about his house wash and if the price comes up I don't want my customer to feel he was over charged because brother in-law knows some cheap guy.
Any way sometimes the customer may not realize just how dirty things were before the cleaning .
So during a Job I keep a pocket 35mm camera in my pocket , clean half a gutter its white as new the other grayed and streaked take a snap shot , wash half the vinyl take a snap shot
Film is so cheap to develope with the grocery store labs these days it works great a 24 roll can do several jobs you may have $2.00 in each job but it always makes the customer say WOW WAS THAT That DIRTY !!!!
Mail them to the customer or just drop by With them.

Give it a try ,make it a habit!!

Hey Shane, great idea! I clean carpet also, and I take digital pictures of every job before, after, and during, and I sometimes give a copy of the disc to customers. I having trouble with the power washing though. Its hard to sell this service, can you give me some tips on how to get customers?

Shane,
I plan to get a digital cam soon. Sony makes one (for about 499.00 at Office Depot) that you can load a floppy disc right in the side of the cam. I was thinking of this when I was explaining to an elderly woman yesterday how gutter guards would keep her gutters clean. Her gutters were on the 2nd story level, and I got 4 gig garbage bags of pinestraw, etc from them when I cleaned them Friday. I wouldn't have thought they would hold that much debri. After washing the house and doing a couple of extra's for her, I gave her a 10% senior citizens discount. I too charge a premium price for services but I am the best in my area. How many of you give a discount to seniors?

I'm Taking pictures of the decks I do,and have the after shots on file so in two years I can send a picture to the customer reminding them how beutiful their deck looked.

Each of my 3 crews take 3-5 pictures of each job. On first time service we take before shots. I only develope if I have a situation that calls for it. My trade is the food service trade/hood service. In doing calls I mention the before and after shots for ins. and "you said he said". I spend around $400 on film and last year I developed 10 rolls only to spot check my crews, and it works-great tool.

I gladly give a 10% (sometimes 15%) discount to seniors. A fixed income can be a real hardship for some folks!

What a great idea. I often tell my customersto take before and after pictures of their jobs. They serve other purposes also. #1 If the customer trys to say you didn't do the job, you have proof that you did. #2 Your customer can see how great of a job you did. #3 Save one of each for yourself. Put them in a photo album with a date on them, and you now have a Portfolio as a tool, to show your prospective customers how many jobs you have done and, the dramatic difference your services will make on their place. You now have proof that, they can see, that showes that you do more than just talk.:e} :e} :e} :e}
