DEAR CONGRESS, Last year I mismanaged my funds and borrowed to much and this year my family and I cannot decide on a budget. Until we have come to an unified decision that fits all of our needs and interests we will have to shut down our checkbook's and will no longer be able to pay our taxes to you. I'm sure you'll understand. Thank you very much for setting an example we can follow!

Too funny Mike.

On a serious note. I signed a monthly contract that involves getting paid with Federal Dollars....in light of all the "stuff" going on in Washington....I am not so sure this was a good thing or not! I am keeping my fingers crossed cause we start this contract in a few days!!!!

I hope you get paid too. It's the seniors that will get threatened which is classic Democrat all the way! Both parties have ruined us and sleep in the same beds.

Social Security will be paid, no matter what. They are not included in the part of the federal budget. That they are saying that it is not going to be paid is to just add to the hysteria. I also would not worry about getting paid for a federal contract. It might be a week or two late, at the worst, but you will get paid.
Honestly, I think that we will all find that a magic bullet will be passed at the eleventh hour. It is just a charade so all the pol's can say they were protecting their consituents interests.

I agree Scott.

Since I commented above about the Fed Contracts....I received a call today from my contact person this afternoon. They wanted to confirm that I would be at the first location on Monday. I brought up the situation going on in Washington as a footnote to our conversation and from what I heard everything seems to be okay from an invoicing standpoint all the way up to the payment part. One could surmise based on her demeanor that they aren't worried, just yet, about what is going on or not going on in D.C.

Yup. We just went through this in MN. The state was shut down for a couple weeks because both sides were sticking to their talking points instead of doing their jobs.

It wasn't that long ago that pol's were willing to eat their words if it's the right thing to do...I'm thinking about, "Read my lips, No New Taxes."
