Surface cleaner help?

I was wanting to know if anyone had some advice on surface cleaners... I just purchased my first one for my small buisness. It is a 20" NorthS*** that is a max of 3000 psi and 2.6gpm. I meet these requirements with the unit i am using it with and i it is taking quite afew passes to tell a big difference. Is there a chemical i could apply to mainly driveways and sidewalks to speed this up?

Thanks , will [hello]

On residential concrete that resists normal surface cleaner attention, I will downstream 12% chlorine. That is usually enough to get rid of the ghosting. With only 2.6 gpm, you may need to re-clean after the chlorine.

it takes time

Take your time, you can use a concret cleaner prior but it still is not super fast.
Compared to a wand yes it's faster and even, but still if you work to fast you'll defeat the purpose you'll get use to it

Will,
I would exchange (if possible) that surface cleaner for the hammer head surface cleaner made my general pump; it's carried by the same store. Otherwise, I would purchase the hammer head, and keep the other as a spare. It is the hoover type, but it has a better swivel, can handle 4000 psi at 8 gpm and 300 degrees. You will have to walk at a very slow pace if your using anything less then 4 gpm on concrete.

The kind of soil that is on the concrete dictates what kind of chemical you should use. If it is grease, oil, or a heavy traffic area, a strong degreaser should do the trick. If it's red clay, an acid, like muratic will probably be the best chemical, although you'll have to use it properly. If its mainly mold and organic type of dirt, a sodium hypoclorite or bleach mixture would work. Hot water also goes a long way in cleaning concrete.

John, what do you mean by downstreaming 12% chlorine??

Do you spray on the chlorine with a wand to the surface first before cleaning the concrete with the surface cleaner (and plain water)? From my understanding you can't downstream AND use the surface cleaner at the same time since the cleaner is high pressure.

The downstreaming is a seperate process from the surface cleaning.
