ANYONE TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THE "CYCLONE" THAT MARK MCINTYRE SHOWS AVAILABLE ON HIS LINK TO THEIR SITE? LOOKS LIKE A LANDA ALMOST. IS IT ADJUSTABLE IN HEIGHT? HOW HARD TO ATTACH A WAND LIKE THE LANDA HAS?

never used a cyclone but if you call MARK he wont steer you wrong.
Most people have little use for adj. height but it's nice for newer cement.
As far as adding a wand. Lot's of people put a high pressure ball valve on the end of the pressure line and tie the trigger gun open. Then just use the ball valve to turn the pressure on and off. If you go that route then you just turn the ball valve to off, disconnect via quick disconnect, and attach your wand. You can home make a way to attach a wand to the unit.
Mark can sell you the whole set-up.
i find that you get what you pay for. It's all in the spinner. greaseable? rebuildable?replacement cost? easy of getting the part's? temp rateing? gpm rateing?
these would be my questions.

Also remember

that the body of a surface cleaner [looks] can look like any other but your spending your money on the SPINNER.
No matter what it look's like no one has a spinner like the real landa water-jet.
That is why they cost what they cost.

LANDA'S WATER JET SPINNER

RON,

WHAT MAKES THE LANDAS SPINNER SO DIFFERENT OR SPECIAL?
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHERS WE CAN BUY THROUGH VARIOUS COMPANIES?

spinners

rotations per min. and quality of parts used.
The more roatations per min. the better the surface cleaner.
The best quality parts, last the longest.
Dont quote me but i think most spinners turn at about 2,000 RPM and landas is more like 3,500 RPM. SO IN ONE HOURS TIME YOUR CLEANING MUCH MORE SURFACE AND THERE FOR MAKES IT WORTH MUCH MORE.
Tim, where can you buy a an orig. equipment Landa water jet spinner for $400?
A water jet sell's for about $1100 there is no way in hell the body and name sells for that much over the cost of the spinner. I could be wrong but if i were someone would buy just the spinners and make a cheap rip-off of the water jet that would really clean as well.
It is just a plastic houseing and lawn mower handle.
It's all about the RPM's and few advertise what they are rated at.

I see one of these places advertise a self lubricating thrust bearing as part of the rotary union. Self lubricating sure sounds like a bronze Oilite (or equiv.) brand bushing which cost about a nickel-ninety eight (and last about that long). They probably use roller-skate quality radial bearings also (same nickel-ninety eight cost & quality).
If that's the only difference, and you have access to a small machine shop, there is no reaon why you cant fit a good quality rotary union into a less expensive surface cleaner (after the first failure).

I'm very familiar with the Deublin equipment design. We used it exclusively in high speed production equipment going back some 20+ years. Their equipment is engineered well and lasts a long time.
