Trailer Lay-out

I have a 6 x 12 double axle trailer, I have been running a 8 gpm hot water on the front then a 225 gal tank and a 5.5 gpm hot water on the rear with 2 high pressure reels. I got another 8 gpm washer and it is bigger than my 5.5 machine. I was thinking of placing both machines on the front of the trailer then tank over the axles, or tank front and machines over the axles. The tank only has water in it when the trailer is parked. Whats everybody thoughts?

My thoughts are you need a bigger trailer. Sounds like your emilminating the 5.5gpm??? If so I'd say machines over axles, tank up front.

Yeah Doug getting rid of the 5.5 on that trailer, putting it on another trailer. The new mechine is only 6 inches wider. I like the small trailer, but maay have to upsize the trailer and turn the smaller trailer for residental work and the bigger one for commerical. So what size trailers are you guys thinking??

I know nothing about the business, but I'm using a 16" trailer with my Alkota up front and a 600 gallon tank over the axles. She's a little tongue heavy without a load of water, but with half a load it pulls great. If your not hauling water, I'd put the machine over the axle's. What kinda tongue weight can your truck handle?

BAM...I'd make the smaller trailer a residential trailer. Put the 5.5 and on, it, (maybe a small 4gpm cold water unit if u got one) get a non pressure roof pump set up on it, a couple small 65-85 gallon tanks, or one 125 gallon and one 65-85 gallon tank,(one for SH full strength, the other to mix in). Then get a 14-16 ft trailer for the commercial work with the two 8 gpm skids.

Chad call me sometime this weekend and we can discuss. I got some ideas for you to consider...My trailer has 2 8 gpm machines on it and I am in the process of setting up a resi trailer also.

Well ok guys the trailer build starts!! Got a 6 1/2 by 16 trailer so I have a couple days off so time to start working on it. Still can't decide to put the pw up front or the tank?
@Doug the 5.5 and a cold water on the old trailer after a little work

Got the new trailer built. Still got a little of things I want to add but it is workable. Went with the tanks over the axles with the 2 pw infront of the tank. Left enough room in the front to add a toolbox, want to stack the reels now they are on the floor at the rear. Will try to post some pics in a day or so.
