I have reconfigured my printer, but still cant get it to print from EZ Route. It works fine from other software.

Whats up with making non-,Windows soft ware work with a modern printer?

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Well, you won't like my suggestion. Upgrade to a windows based product. You are working with a DOS based product in a Windows environment. You may find these frustrating problems will only get worse with newer releases of Windows.

I had trouble printing with it and I have Windows 98 SE, Max spent an hour with me and ever time I sent something to the printer it froze on me.

There is no driver with EZ for HP printers.

I also just could not figure it out so deleted it and am going to stay with QuickBooks Pro.

Not that it matters, but I use an HP printer and I don't have a problem. I did at first the once I got it working. I upgraded many times. I now using XP pro without a problem. By the way XP is great.

Printer is new, a HP OfficeJet G85 and it does all it claims.

Fax, copy, prints and scans, both in black and white and color, yes faxes in color IF your fax can recieve color.

So who wants to buy my old printer 3 years, scanner 2 years and fax maching 3 years?

The whole thing $150 plus shipping.

Give Max a call he can get you up and going. Don't even think of going to a Win program-I have had this program for 4 years and nothing comes close-The people who have not used the program are the ones who complain. Yes you Jon. You must give it more than a half hour.

Okay Guys, take it easy.

Jon didn't bad mouth the program. He simply said he did try support and continued to have problems. Not all products perform the same way in different environments. Trouble shooting is not as easy as one might think.

Everyone has to make their own choice to use what works best for them, and meets their business need. I may find short comings with QB Pro myself, but until something comes along in Windows I will stay where I am. I have had too many experiences with non windows issues to go back. But then, that's my choice.

Over the years I have also worked with some excellent DOS programs. There are times I really miss good DOS programs. Perhaps one day Max will program a Windows version of his application. I would try it. I have heard many good things. We all have.

In the meantime, just because someone chooses a different application, doesn't mean it is a bad choice. But from a technical perspective, there does come a time for some users to have to change. It's not personal, it's just another business decision.

The program is a text based program. It like Win programs work within Dos. Would I trust my company operation to a Win base program that is subject to all types of virus, lock ups, crashes and anything else that comes down the wire. I have elected to use a stand alone system that will get the job done time in and time out. This systems comes without the 20 lbs. of manuals and $50 per. phone call for cust. no service. But don't forget the annual upgrade to fix the problem that was in the last version.

The reference to Jon and his lack of support of the program come from a phone conversation and was said as humor response.

In fact I am so upset with the Window thing I have just went over to Linux, just to see. Anyone on Linux?????????????

Hi David,
I have heard good thngs about Linux, but have not had the opportunity to use it yet. Why don't you share what you know about it with the users here, talk a bit about the interface, etc...

I would like to hear more! :)

Contact info for Max @ Ez_route? ? ?

I was refered to this bulletin board by a customer regarding EZ-Route. Is EZ-Route still being produced by Max? I have a new client that is in the business and likes the program features. But I have no contact info that is on the web. Could someone please help me out on someway to get a hold of Max? Thanks in advance.
