two pressure washers?

Bussiness is growing, and it is time to start thinking about another service truck. I have been wondering about installing 2 pressure washers in the new truck. That way one guy can clean the fan while the second guy is cleaning the hood. Has anybody else tried this and does it work or not?

I would like to have a second back-up PW, for when the first one is down or when the kitchen is too far away to reach with the main unit. Anyone use a 110 Volt PW? Any thoughts on this? The 110Volt would use the customers hot water. When I had a 220Volt pw, I had to carry a lot of adaptors because of the number of different 220 Volt receptacles, which is why I am asking about 110Volt PW. Another problem I had with the 220Volt PW was running out of customers hot water. Could I mount a small booster heater on the portable and boost the temperature of the water?

Your idea sounds good until you think closer about hood service. The hood is hung with plastic and the guy on the roof is working on the fan. The guy downstairs working on the hood, should be prespraying and or working on the filters plus he should be keeping an eye on the plastic. If you shoot the hood while the guy is working on the fan, he will get chemical all over him-then since the top is not complete - will be forced to shoot the hood again when the fan guy comes off the roof.

The German PW company makes a small port. hot unit that works on the stores hot water, & you could use this as a backup/filters.

If your crew is on the same page you can rock & roll with just the one unit. Of the 400 units that we service,I can't think of a normal situation that would require two PW.on the truck/van. However if you service flatwork at that location and have a 3 man crew that would work.

By the way how did the Mosmatic-hoz. tractor W/spinner work out?

As a added issue of time, any time that is gained is lost in the cool down and rollup of the second machine. Everything times two-more hose to roll up, more vinegar,2nd downline/JetX-hose on top of hose. All small points that add to TIME LOST of any gain.

We have been using 110 volt electrics for many years. Many of the systems that we do are located in areas that truck mounted equipment can not be used.

The best unit that we have found is a 1500 psi 2 gpm with a Cat pump. It is rated to accept 190 degree water. Does require a 20 amp breaker. Sometimes 20 amp breakers can be hard to find, so we keep a smaller 1000 psi(15 amp)unit on the truck just in case.

Vinegar is used to neutralize the sodium hydroxide. We use soda beads and mix at the store location. We run vinegar mix threw our down lines & hoses. At times some chemical mix get on the floor. If that product dries, a hard sand like condition remains on the floor. If you mop out with a solution of water and vinegar the soda will be neutralized. We now us citric acid dry & it works even better.
