Two/Three Story House

I am new to the board but have been in Business for a little over a year. I get alot of 2 and 3 story houses to wash in the area and have competitors (if you want to call them that) that charge significantly less to clean these houses.

I have seen photos on the net that show someone standing on the ground cleaning 2 and 3 story houses w/ no extension pole and no ladder?

I use an extension pole and a 5 gpm 3500psi hot water washer. I use a house detergent from my local supplier that does not seem to help too much with the cleaning of mildew and hesitate to use bleach.

So are these pictures just show? or can this really be done and if so how? and what chemicals work the best.

Hey Brian, Try a X-JET. They run about $175 or you can get a generic version for about half. Works good for high areas, extension wands work well also. The extension wands are a little tiresome after a while. Both work good, it's just what works for you. I prefer my extension wand. Just my .02

Brian,

Use the search function (magnifying glass icon at the top of page) and you will find more info. Here is a start : http://www.powerwash.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001173.html

I use an xjet nozzle, but I have not found that magical formula that will allow me to wash from the ground only. I can be done, and I have some ideas now on how, but have not tried them yet.

Even if you still wash with your extension wand, the xjet is a nice item to have, to make it easier to apply chemicals to the home. Xterior is the company that makes them 1-800-XTERIOR

By the way......stick to your guns on pricing.......do good work and ask for referrals. You don't need to lower your prices to compete, just do a better job.

I too use the X-Jet and I like it much. Draws the chemical good up to the 2nd story. Easy to use.

I am thinking about purchasing an x-jet nozzle. Is it difficult to get around with the tubing and chemical container? I need a way to get a higher concentration of chemicals on the surface. The downstream injector doesn't get enough chems on the surface to clean it good enough.

We have both the xjet /w the soap nozzle and we also
use extention wands along with the xjet for those 3 story homes. But we always still brush some areas.
As you know each job is a little different.
But stick to your prices and do quality work.
Just my 2 cents worth. Tim

Maz,

Nothing hard about using the X-jet........as long as you can handle carrying a full 5 gallon bucket around. I have heard of some guys splitting their cleaner into several buckets and placing them on each side of the house, so they dont have to carry one around...... Myself, I just use one.

When you order it, tell them what type of machine you are running. They will give you an xjet with the proper sized orfices inside to work well with your machine. Also, make sure you get the close range attachment..........it screws into the end of the xjet and allows you to spray things that are within ten feet of you..........such as ranch/mobile homes, etc.

Ron Stickland, or anyone else at Xterior will hook you up. 1-800-XTERIOR.

Hey Mark, does the Pressure Washer Zone carry the x-jet??
