unloader

Thanks Mark,

This is what I was figuring. Let me ask you two more questions if you don't mind.

1. Should the unloader be piped to go back into the water tank or elsewhere rather than back into the pump. With my experience pumping fire trucks, recirculating water can generate some serious heat.

2. I plan on running the supply hose into the 300 gallon tank at the top with the float valve. Should the line running from the tank to the pressure washer intake be off the outlet at the bottom of the tank or at the top of the tank. I know this should be simple but as usuall, I am thinking to much. My concern of the bottom would be the large of amount of pressure from the water on the pump and my concern with the top is will the pump be able to draw the water out with enough ease.

Thanks, Mike

Back to the tank is best, but if you plan to upstream, then you will need a three way ball valve to prevent getting a tank full of soap.

Your line to the pump should come off the bottom of the tank. The pressure from the water will not hurt the pump.

Thanks so much. I did some search and found a bunch of info on that. I think I will use a 1 inch suction line or maybd 1 1/2 inch with a ball valve to shut the tank and the pressure off when not in use and just reduce it at the pump intake. I plan on downstreaming as I have heard this best for the pump. Thanks again.

Yes if you bypass back to the tank you
can run in bypass indefinetely without
damage to the pump packing.
