Vinyl lattice precautions

What precautions, if any, should be taken when doing deck work with white vinyl lattice? Deck also has white painted trim around the floor. I was thinking of masking it off with plastic. Is that necessary?

Thanks,

For cleaning I would just be careful not to hit it with much pressure. I would wet it down first then clean the deck and wash the vinyl after. What do you plan on using to stain/seal?
That is a different story. We carry a spray bottle of Simple Green with us. We use Ready Seal and simply try and be careful laying the stain down. If it does get on the vinyl we just spray the Simple Green and wipe it with a rag. Do not let it dry on there though.
If I can help any further just let me know.

Mike and Dennis, I guess I wasn't clear on what I'll be doing. I will be stripping Thompsons off and using Ready Seal for the sealer. I't be an easy job. Painted white railing and vinyl lattice. about 800 sq ft of floor and about 10 steps.

thanks for your input.

You'll be fine then...........when you wash the deck, just ignore that lattice.

When you seal it, cover it as best you can, and like Dennis said, wipe the ready seal off of it as soon as possible.
