Virus Alert

Dan Flynn

PWN Founder
I just got a virus sent to me from sales@pwscleaning.com in the subject line it says re: Thanks : ) and on the inside it says see attachment. The attachment is named info.zip and is 39KB. I'm sure he knows nothing about it and im not suggesting that he is sending this on purpose. Once a person get the virus they send them self to everyone in that personsons email address book. Don't Open It!

Hope this help

Apparently there is a virus running around the system, A week or so ago I got an email from the BBS member with an attachement. In the title line it said Re: Thanks... See attachment.

I opened the zip file and a cherry appeared. Dan Flynn contacted me and said he recieved an email with a virus from 'Sales@pwscleaning.com" and he gave me the virus name; W32/Bagle.gen@MM

I do not use sales@pwscleaning,com to send email, the account is used to recieve email from my website only. The member BBS that I recieved the email from did not use the account to send email as well.

I updated Norton Antivirus and the virus was present. It is a remailer virus.

<font color=e87400>News Flash! Don't open attachments unless you know "exactly what they are" & exactly whom they are from & why they are sending it to you.

I only open attachments from a few people. I would never open an attachment from anyone here or any vendors unless I asked for the information & verified what was sent to me was sent intentionally.

You guys might ought to excercise the same caution.

I won't even open an attachment from my most elite techie friends unless it's a verified email.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Sounds like Cody has it down pat.

Heck I don't even open attachments from my own daughters Email.

As Cody said if you did not ask for it don't open it.
