Since we're getting into the nuts and bolt of things here, which browser are you using? Any reasons you like one over another?

I use Opera for Mac and iCab. They are small, fast and free. www.tucows.com will have all kinds of browsers for all of the different OS's.

AOL is clunky and awkward to use (in my opinion) as well as slow, light in features and bloated. Both IE and Netscape are also bloatware at 15-20 MB besides being less than stable and slow. The other two mentioned above are from 2-9 MB including support for all internet standards and java.

Hope this helps? Cheers

I use Netscape 4.72. I am avoiding the newest Netscape, because I don't want all the AOL baloney adding to system overhead. As for IE.... in the computer biz we call it Internet Exploder, because all it does is bloats your system with over 30+ meg of additional spaghetti code. I prefer to keep my systems lean and mean. They are easier to maintain that way, as well as achieve the performance they are capable of.

I use MS Explorer, last year when Netscape upgraded I downloaded it and it messed up my computer. Not going into detail but removed it and went to MS Explorer and am happy with it.

Will never have AOL, end of that discussion.

I currently use the MS Explorer, and have had no problems with it. I heard lot of good stuff about the Opera browser. I downlowded it, and there was something I just didn't like. Maybe I just didn't play with it long enough and give it a chance.

Beth

IE 4 Me

IE, I cant copy and paste in the address line in netscape. As for too much junk coming in, I bought zonealarm pro which came with an adsubtract software that blocks a lot of junk.

I use IE5.5 and NS6, just retired AOL. I mainly keep both around to see if pages, scripts, etc. are working across browsers.

Although IE is less efficient, it's the browser I grew-up with so it's the one I prefer.

Beth, how about yourself - which one(s) do you use/like?

I use I.E. and AOL.

I.E. is much faster with my cable hook up then AOL. I keep my AOL for e-mail. I pay $9.95/month for AOL which one of these days I will drop. Not worth keeping for the e-mail. I split the $30/month cable bill with my tennant which is a great deal.

John,

My suggestion would be that you start giving people a new email address now, and make the transition slowly, so you can get rid if that AOL in a month or two from now.........no use giving them your money for nothing.

You should consider getting a website for your company. I give everyone my email address from my site, so they send email to my website, but I control where my email from my site gets forwarded to.......so, when I change ISP's (internet service provider) I just effortlessly change it on my website, and the emails get sent to the new address. My email address will remain the same no matter what.

Don't forget, you can use AOL's Instant Message system even if you dont have AOL. You can download the AOL IM software from their site at www.aol.com

I pay for it, might as well use it. Don't care for it much, but don't spend alot of time here.
