Is that the exact file name or extension. I never heard of it. Can you give more info? Like were did you get it? What are you trying to do with it? I am not big on audio other than in my living room. But if you give me enough info I will find out, what I can.

<font color=e87400>Heyya Wiz.

Not 100% sure here but for what your referring this extension to, I believe that the .ax extension is a tag-along Microsoft windows system file, to a video file. I don't believe that you can really read anything (Other than source code) on an .ax file, it's just there to translate a/the video file.

AX file

I downloaded a game from the net. While looking thru the sound folder I found sound effects. Some of them could be opened by Windows Media player. Others had the symbol without the background. So i tried to open them. A window pops up saying "does not support this type of file" so I went to Properties to see what type of file it was it said "AX file" and stated the size of the file. That is all.

Could be one of a couple of things....
A proprietary file designed to run with the application, or an effect file designed to run in the effects library. In either case, it's not a file you can associate, open and play with.

Sorry........

Hey Wiz, I've found that if you make a good fist and slam the h__ll out of your key board it makes the keys fly off, looks cool and makes me feel much better.

Hope this helps :)
