I have been power washing on the side for a couple years now but have never done a vinyl sided house.

what in terms of accessories, chemicals, tips and instructions do I need?

Is a warm water pressure washer needed?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi There

I've been washing vinyl for several years up here in Canada. (9 years)
You need a good extendable aluminum handle, which usually lengten to about 18' as most gutters/soffits are 14' high from the ground. A decent firm bristled brush head, one preferably for siding most times found at Home Depot which have black bristles. Unless you have a Janitors Warehouse type store. If you can get one, or have a 36' extendable wand thats perfect for the 2 storey homes, then your standard wand for the lower sections and no use for a ladder.
5 Gallon bucket lol, a good House Wash which can be purchased from a reputable dealer, or someone who sells equipment/gear. If you want to try a few soaps/detergents, and they can sell to you try a 4 litre, or 2 gallon jug.
A good ladder if your house is a 2 storey, or split entry. Now if the house has aluminum gutters, and fascia which the gutters are nailed to, or screwed you can add a small amount of degreaser for the black streaks.
Best bet if you need to buy one, or have an X-Jet, I swear by it, unless there's something else on the market. It will cut your time.

When you scrub the siding, make sure to scrub the face, as well I call them the ledges, not sure what else they are called where the tiny drain holes are located, which are every 2 panels/faces. Algae/mildew collects there. For the tip I use a 40 degree because it has the better width and you can get done quicker. Also the Gabel vents these I'm sure you have seen, if the house is newr it will have the stronger vinyl ones, if the owners kept the old one shese can be very brittle and chip on the corners as I found out just once 3rd house 8 yrs ago, just go slow scrubbing when you get clse to them, or around them.

For scrubbing you'll find out what works for you, I scrub and rinse from bottom to top, as the detergent has a little longer time to work on the siding. And it was how I was trained in N. Carolina. I also do my house walls in 2 to 3 sections, why?? Because if its a hot day the detergent will dry on and you'll stay too long, so the front and back of the house 2 -3 sections, the left & right sides of the house 1 -2 sections and the reason also allows the undone sides to get wet again to apply the soap/detergent.
When you rinse the windows stand back about a foot, or slightly more, or you'll blow out the window seals, thats the other reason I wash a house in sections, because the detergent/soap will dry on the glass from the sun.

Hopefully this novel of info helps out lol. LMK if it did, or does.

PS dont forget to give a Thank You card a week later, this will get you those repeats and new referrals and grow your business.

Warm or Hot water is not necessary for cleaning vinyl, cold water will work fine. Get with Mark here at easy clean systems and he can fix you up with some HI and LO soap tips. Apply a house wash mix of SH, Water and Soap via a downstream injector and rinse with cold water and you'll never have to scrub, or use a ladder, and you'll be done in under an hour on most average up to 2000-2500 square foot homes.

Downstreaming your mix will also prevent you from having to carry your bucket around with you when using an X-Jet.
