A few Questions

First off, I'd like to say hello to you all!

A few years a go I purchased a Campbell Hausfeld pw2200 2.0GPM 6.0hp B&S power washer. I wanted a 3400 but could convince the wife. I've always enjoyed using it and have thought about using it for side jobs to bring in a little extra cash. I'd mostly be cleaning sidewalks, garages, driveways, patios, and foundations (I've done this at the house). Doing wood and brick and using chemicals right now kinda scares me.

I'd appreciate it if you could help me determine what to charge per square foot? I thought about calling around locally and seeing too.

Is the pws above a good combo to complete such tasks?

Thanks,

Chris-

It will bring in VERY little extra cash. The jobs of which you speak are mostly add-ons for bigger jobs. Take the time to learn about proper use of soap (chemical is a harsh word) to do housewashes. Your machine will be painfully inadequate to do most jobs. Get some insurance, an X-Jet and target one story and mobile homes.

If your going to powerwash in Austin, i have 2 names for you. WESTLAKE AND LAKEWAY. My parents have properties there and a lot of the ($350k-1mil) homes have now reached the 10-15 yr old range and are ripe for more of the simpler deck and siding jobs. As for your choice of equipment, the previous poster is right that as you expand and grow you will want better equipment. I started out with a machine much like yours and used it to afford a larger and more capable rig. For now, i would target mainly decks and siding, as concrete(primarily anything oil stain or gum related) can be extremely tricky at times with a less advanced machine.

P.S.- Dont be afraid to know the limits of your machine as you may discover its best to pass along certain jobs to a powerwasher with more experiece/and or a larger machine. (just charge them 10% for the lead)

Good luck with your endeavor,

Daniel
