Ambulance style lighting

We are setting up a new covered utility trailer. We have decided to have the interior Rhino lined based in part on a post we saw here somewhere, great suggestion.

I am considering lighting options for our night work. Has anyone had any success with ambulance sytle lights that run off of a battery or charging system ?

Is a 20-25 amp recharging system from a gas powered engine sufficient to recharge a deep cycle marine battery from which power is being drawn to power a Beckett SDC type burner + say (2) interior lights and (2) exterior ambulance style lights ?

Any 12v suggestions ? I am also considering more than one deep cycle marine battery that we would recharge daily with a 110v battery charger back in the yard.

Hello Shawn,

If you go to this url http://www.tps-inc.com/inside3redtruk.jpg you will be looking at the inside of one of our trucks.

We did not use rhinocoat because it would be too slippery! We used a sealer on the floor and walls.

We used 3-4 foot floresent light fixtures (one on roof 2 on walls). The 2000 watt generator on the 5800 Hotsy can run the lights but we generally do not need them to run while we are using the burner. We also have the lights wired so we can connect them to land power.

The small round lights that you see on the roof are low voltage lights. We have 4 of them (18 foot van body) hooked up to a 15 minute timer. When we need to get into the back of the truck to get something out we just turn on the timer. Don't need a flashlight or hook up the other lights. We have it hooked up to the battery on the chassis. The timer is used so we cannot forget to turn them off (no dead battery).
