Have any ready seal users tried woodrich timber oil? It looks like it is supposed to penetrate and act similar to ready seal, both paraffin oil based. Im currious if there is a difference when using timber oil, nicer color, less fading? Thanks. Chris

Yeah I read that it has better coverage and I can see how that could seem good. But if your useing a penetrateing stain dont you want the one that penetrates the most even if it means less coverage? Thanks for your response.

They penetrate the same. Deep penetrating oils (parafinic) carry the pigmentation down with them. So a deciding variable is how much pigmentation (as a percentage) that type product has. In many cases of very dry wood you need three coats of RS to make a deck look good. Often times you should come back a wek later to put that third coat on. More pigmentation in the product initially means you won't have to apply as much. My average RS coverage on a deck was 75 s/f per gallon. That makes it way too expensive of a product for me (and I regularly pay $30 per gallon for quality products)
