BEEN TOLD NOT TO BUY THE DEVILBLISS 10HP, 3000/3.0 OR THE DEVILBLISS HONDA 3000/3.0 BECAUSE THERE DIRECT DRIVE;

WHAT ARE SOME GOOD "BELT DRIVEN UNITS" THAT I CAN PURCHASE FAIRLY CHEAP. CAN ONE BE PURCHASED FOR AS LITTLE AS $650? IF SO, WHERES THE BEST PLACE TO GET ONE.

We have one belt driven unit and one direct drive unit. The direct drive gives us far less trouble. Be careful buying a belt driven unit. You need to get one with a top cog belt if you decide to go cheaper with the belt drive. My opinion only of course!! Also my opinion, cheaper is not necessarily better but if you can go cheaper and stay out of debt then you can upgrade when you start making money.

Belt driven pumps generally last longer because they run at a lower rpm due to gear reduction because of the belt. They also generally have less vibration because of a seperate mounting and this also helps them run cooler. To get a good honda powered belt driven unit you're gonna spend$1500-$2000.

Take a look around the web. There are several places you can get one on line. I know a few sites but no advertizing here.
