My husband, Mike, is without a doubt the most intelligent man I have ever met, but he struggled in school (learning disabilities) and was put in "resource" classes, despite his teachers fighting to get him out. He is now a brilliant machinist/tool & die maker/gunsmith with a mechanical aptitude that is unfathomable to someone like me. He learned the old-fashioned way -- under an apprenticeship with a German tool & die maker who saw something special in Mike when he was young. Now Mike is working at night to get his college degree because the world says he needs it to be marketable. I think the "world" is full of hooey.

(And on another note, Mike Rowe is just plain awesome!)
