I noticed one thing wrong with that picture.

No safety straps?

After about 1/2 way I really didn't care anymore... My arms were becoming like rubber...

eight 2-story houses and every window washed. $850,000-plus homes, so you no these houses had A LOT of windows...

Hummmm..........

Ladder looks only about 32' off ground. That is if it is a 40' ladder. Why would you need safety straps ? I would most likely think you would at least need the ladder stablizers.....

It would be a hard thump, but probably not to bad... I won't be doing that again if I can avoid it... I was probably about 16' off the ground.

Safety is my number one concern, but after 3-hours, just getting the heck out there became my number one concern...

That's why I was working on a weekend so that no one else would be around.

I think if I get stuck doing this again, I will hire a friend to help move that thing around...

It looks like you're washing them with the washer...are you running DI water?

If you're cleaning with the washer, why not just do them from the ground if they're only 16' up?

I was to only remove the adhesive that was baked to the windows when they used the wrong type of duct tape that released the adhesive when the temps reached over 100-degrees. They were suppose to use 300-degree duct tape...

I also had to remove the stucco over spray that was on the windows as well.

The only reason the super had me doing it was because he caught a window washer using Goof-Off and putty knives twice to remove the adhesive. (Voids the Warranty)

Since all I needed was heat, he had me do it and then back charged the window washers for my fees...

After I rinsed all the windows, they had to follow it up and make them sparkle...

What's a ladder stabilizer? Banger Poles? But I've only seen banger poles on the '39 Peter Pirsch and the '52 Pirsch Ladder Truck. Both of those had 35 foot and 50 foot ladders, and they took 3 people minimum, preferably 5 people to ladder a building.

Ladder Stabilzer

Made by Werner. They attach to the top two rungs. They only help to stabilize the ladder from sway or movement. They also get you away from the building about 18".

Look up Werner Ladder accessories on the net.

I second that notion.

Werner Ladder Stabilizers are great. If you do gutters they really come in handy. Like one call said, gets out off the house a foot and a half, makes it easy to get on the roof, or to the gutters without resting the ladder on the gutters.

Good call one call.
