Numb

After this horror I still feel numb, waves of feeling over-take me when I least expect it.
I get choked up every time I hear the national anthem or look into my children's eyes.

God be with all of our forces, and God bless America

I know what you mean. It takes me by surprise too. The other day in the town I livein had its annual home comeing parade. When I heard the home town band playing the national athem. And seeing those high school kids carring the flag it really tore me up. But when I looked around I could see I was not the only one to feel that way. May God Bless America

Walt,
As far as the choking up goes---- That is pride! Most of us are proud to be AMERICANS and I fight for the freedom we have. I have been in the Navy 15 years. Been in Desert Storm and was on the USS Theodore Roosevelt off the coast of Kosovo. Just give your children the love they deserve and treat everyday like there is no tomorrow. They have taken a little of our security away but they cannot take our pride and our hard working mentality. No one works harder than the american man. Life is plentiful here. AFGHANI'S have no life. They are poor and the Taliban's are keeping them that way....We shall defeat all enemy's! And at the same time preserve life as we know it.....Keep on Keepin ON!! and Dance like no one is watching! Life is GREAT! God Bless-

I am also really having a difficult time sorting out my own feelings about how this should be handled it isn't as simple as it was for Pearl Harbor.
The Afghani's are very poor and kept poor by the Taliban. How do we take out the terrorists and leave the innocent I don't have a clue. I do know that this is a very unique situation about dealing with the insane people that attacked us.
We can't fit this solution in a box. Its big and spread out.
I do know this and probably only this and that is I am enjoying our renewed spirit of Americanism.
