I thought I'd share my experience from a couple nights ago since it's one of the stranger nights that I've worked.
We were running two machines cleaning a delivery lot and holding lot, starting around 5:00 p.m. with the hope of finishing about midnight. First problem was the unloader (i think) going out on one of the pressure washers. Of course it decided to go out in the first 5 minutes of work so I got my guys set up with the second unit and went to the second (holding) lot to see if I could get the first machine working (had to go to the other lot for access to water). When I was ready to give it a try, I realized that I had left the gun in the first lot, so I jumped in the truck to get it. Would have only been gone about 2 minutes, but my guys had a few questions so i was gone between 5 and 10 minutes. Upon returning to the second lot, I saw a guy rolling my pressure washer toward the street. I drove up quick, slammed to a stop and jumped out of my truck as he let go of the washer and took off running. I sighed with relief to have my machine and started getting everything back in order only to realize that the quick connects must have been a new concept for my attempted thief. He had cut both my supply and my h.p. hoses. Nothing left to do then but load the equipment back up and join the crew on the first lot. I grabbed a squeege and helped as much as I could but with only one machine we were there until 5:00 a.m.
When we finished, all I wanted was to go home and get some sleep but my first task for the new day was to add new hose fittings to my supply of "just in case" equipment.
Just thought I'd share the story and wish you all a good day.
