Oxalic Acid solutions

Just wondering what kind of solution everyone uses when mixing oxalic acid with water. I've talked to contractors that use 8 ounces with one gallon of water, which is basically a 6% solution. I think this is too high and could cause a problem with the finishing products. Any comments?

Are you talking weight or volume?
In other word's do you use a scale or measureing cup?
When i use oxalic, i use my measureing cup
2 1/2 cup's per 5 gal.
Same for citric, which i use more of.
Safer and not a poision.

Ron,

Actually by volume. So if you do the math, it works out that you use 4 oz per gallon. If someone would use more is there a change that the oxalic acid would go the other way and interfere with the coating? Just wondering Thanks Tom
