Scrapper Tools

He has appologized and changed his site. No blood no foul.

As far as that scraper goes, I'm not sure how much time it can actually save and if it is worth it. I'll try it out and give my honest opinion.

Matt,

Can you get one for me too. They sell for $199.00 each. Must be one of those automated scrapers, just set it and forget it.

I will order one so that we can keep the test on the left side of the USA. That meaning location only. Up north we are the RED part of the Blue state. [green]

Ok I tried this thing out last night on some really hard to access laterals. This was on a system that had an oven, fryer, char broiler and grill all going in to the same lateral and the grease was old and baked on.

It works but it is slow going if you are in a difficult position. It definitely got to areas that a regular scraper wouldn’t. You can’t just stick it in the duct and push it around and you’re done, you really have to watch where you’re going and make sure you get the right angle to push it down the duct.

You just have to know that it is not a perfect solution to all of your problems but it is a big step in the right direction. The magnet on this thing is so powerful that you have to yank it off the duct once it is attached. I gave it to one of my guys that does a lot of scrape jobs and he is going to try it out on some standard one story systems and let me know how it works.

I did try it on some of the easier grease in the system and it shaved that stuff right off. It comes off in these nice big strips that just fall down the duct. I think even after scraping a system with this I would still want to wash it to get that really pretty shiny duct. This tool will work great on any system that has already been cleaned properly, but it is a lot of work to get the old neglected areas clean. Unfortunately 99% of the systems that we run in to have been neglected so I am not sure how much use I will have for this.

I will let you know how the full test run goes on some of our regular accounts.

Hey Matt, how do you find the ad scavengers when they steal your stuff? [white] There are some cool smileys on this board. [lm]

He posted a link earlier and when I started reading the site I was like hey, that sounds really familiar.

BTW we have been using that scraper on some other systems and it works great.
