Smoke Smoke and more Smoke

I have a Iron Horse 3500psi Hot Water Pressure Washer. I never noticed it before, But I have very heavy black smoke coming out of my stack. I notice it goes away when I am letting it idle for a few minutes, but as soon as I pull the trigger I get lots of black smoke once again. Do I need to clean the coils regularly? I never have:( or can I just run some soot remover through it. And does that stuff really work? Any help would be great!!!!! Thanks Jaime

Could be a sticky or bad unloader causing your fuel nozzle to shoot to much fuel on to the coils. Then when you pull the trigger it's getting burned off. Or the nozzle could be going.

Maybe Mark from Easyclean can help with this one.

Jaime,

Do not continue running unit with burner smoking,
You will get a heavy soot accumalation, which could require
pulling the coil for a de-soot. (Dirty job)

Black smoke coming from out of the burner typically is caused
by poor combustion. From what you have stated in your post,
when you bring the unit under load the burner smokes. Is the
engine bogging down at this time?

It could be something as simple as an air band adjustment, or
a fuel pump problem, bad fuel or a dozen other things.

Does this unit have a 12 volt DC burner or a 115 volt AC burner.

Tell you what call me on my dime, and I will help you
troubleshoot the unit, then we will post our findings
for everyones benefit!

(Best time to call between 9 am and 11 am PST)

i would use the soot cleaner and descale it as a start. Also check your battery and filter. Always start with the easy things first.
