Tank plumbing

What parts are required to build a kit to plumb a water tank into a pressure washer machine? Is it cost effective enough to do by myself or should I just pay the cost of buying a commercial setup? Anything special I should watch out for when doing this?
It just seems that the commercial prices ($150+) seems a little inflated. Or would I be better off to just part w/ money?

Thanks

You can do it yourself for less then half that much. The only thing I can think of to watch out for is make sure you add a waterfilter in the supply line, the rest is just valves, T's,Y's,hose and clamps. For the supply line I use 3/4 hy. walled plastic,I add also valves to control water flow to the pump and extra line for filling buckets.</FONT c></FONT f>

You may also think about a 2-3 inch
dump value so you can dump extra
water if a employee fills the tank
full near the end of the job.(thousands
of pounds of water can be hell on your
truck over time!)

Good luck,

I also did the work my self and bigboys right, its realy simple and cheap. Didn't know about the water filter though thought the strainer filter on my unit was enough. Should I realy have one?

I try to install some type of large filter right at the tank. People tend to lose the lids on the tanks and end up with all kinds of great stuff inside. I prefer to intall it on the outside for easy cleaning but the socks also work well. Make sure you run a large enough supply line. I use min. 3/4" ID hose or pipe for 2-5 gpm pumps, 1" I.D for 5 -7 gpm pumps and 1 1/4 I.D. for 7 -10 gpm pumps. Don't let your pump starve.
