Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton has another accomplishment to add to his resume, that of celebrity endorser.

The mayor, who will leave office next summer, appeared in print ads for Krystal Klean, a Jacksonville company that provides pressure washing and window washing services, over the Christmas weekend.

The ad, which ran in the Times-Union three days this month, apparently took the mayor by surprise.

"When the workers were present, they asked to take a photo and get his feedback to use as a testament to their work with potential new customers," said Jennifer Savage, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office.

Peyton, it seems, didn't intend for his personal testimony to be used as advertisement for the company.

Savage said Peyton has asked the company to refrain from running the ad in the future.

The company did not return a call seeking comment.

Our company name, logo and our unique Trademark Bold fort are all trademarked, Trade Name and all of our website content is Copy right protected.

That being said, found one of my local "competitors" websites last week, on the banner of their home page is a picture of one of our commercial rigs (second from the left) Aqua Tech Power Wash | Pressure Washing Phoenix AZ - Power Washing Arizona

And on their News and Updates page, about 1/3rd of the content is work for word, stolen from our EPA/CWA page: Aqua Tech Power Wash | Pressure Washing Phoenix AZ - Power Washing Arizona

I had a chat with one of the two owners (Brandon) who claimed he had no idea, his "web guy" did all the work.... My buddies down at AAA Pressure Washers claim they are both good guys. I gave the 30 days to remove my content from their website.

A couple of the other trailer rigs on their home page banner also look familiar, but I can't place them.

Actually, It is our Franchise name for the east coast !

Jim is franchising now? He must be doing really well since franchising all the way to the east coast costs more than $250k. I know, been there, done that. (and that was back in the 90's)

New dealership sells cars on consignment | Indianapolis Business Journal | Professional Journal archives from AllBusiness.com

(Mike Wosje was the original founder of this company. I and two others joined him in 1994. He passed away a few years ago after OAM was taken over in a hostile manner by a slick attorney and the franchise has since broken up into individual dealerships. We sold and started about 71 of them)

I can't find Krystal Kleaning listed as a franchise anywhere. Maybe he meant "In my dreams I dreamed we franchised on the east coast and in that dream our name was Krystal Klean."

Is there a line where something is BS or just "Creative use of words" ?

Rarely can anybody afford not have the timing work out right where you are franchised in all states at one time. It's a time consuming process. When we were registered in 13 or 14 states we already deep into the process in many other states at that time. We, being ignorant of the law, were answering sales calls as if we were already franchised because it was just a matter of weeks before it was finalized.

Meanwhile somebody from the FTC called and got us on tape saying we are setting up franchises all over the US. That was a true statement, but according to the FTC it was false advertising since we were only franchised in 13 or so states at the time of the statement. Maybe somebody had it in for us and turned us in, but that almost cost us the entire franchise nationwide. We had to pay a penalty and it slowed everything down.

To claim to have a franchise if you don't is against the law. Franchise laws are tight as a drum. That is why I did not go that route with our business. I had the investors should I have chosen that path, but my specialty wasn't ready for something like that so I passed on it.

That was all I was saying. If Jim was unaware of that, maybe I just saved him a big fine. No thanks is necessary.
