vinyl siding chalking

vinyl siding does become chalky after some time, when i wash, i remove the chalk with chems and pressure. i know there is some expensive products out there that claim they seal the vinyl and prevent the chalking, has anyone here used these type of products and knows for sure they work?? i have used waxes etc, but i have no evidence they really work. my regular customers that get their homes washed once a year, i don't notice it on theirs as much. the ones that gets washed every 2,3 and 4 years i really notice the chalkiness. is anyone else using any type of wax?? i guess if someone would let me wax half of their house, i could see if it really makes a difference on algae growth and chalking, but i don't have any takers on that sort of experiment.

i'd like to hear others processes and experiences.

thanks, jeff

we don't attempt to remove the chalking unless the customer is wanting the siding the restored. We soft wash it by either downstreaming or using electric pumps our house wash mix and then gently rinse with cool water.

That is a good 6 year old answer!! HA

We have ran into this problem a few times. seems like it is normally the gray or sandstone sidings.

Can sure cause you a problem if your cleaners take off the oidation at only some spots!! Looks all spoty then!!!
