Wax When You Rinse?

Hey all - how many of you use or offer a wax with your final rinse? What wax are you using? What mix ratios do you use? I assume it goes in pre-pump - so is it rather pump friendly?

To some of you asking the price-war question - a final wax coat can be an excellent selling point to a slightly higher price as it will generally make the wash job last a good bit longer. At least - that's what I'm told.

I have been applying wax in the final rinse for more than 12 years and I apply it free of charge.Wax is one of the cheapest items used in our trade as for as chemicals used, some even help clean, plus I had rather use a shealting wax as to a bead wax.I have used several several different waxes over the years, right now I'm useing a polish wax.All of them have been ok waxes, some alittle better than others, like chemicals don't look at the cheapest wax on the market.

I assume you are speaking of residential washing? If so, I add liquid wax to my house wash mix and apply it at about 140 degrees, then rinse with plain, warm water. In warmer weather, I rinse with cold water.

Hi John - yes I mean residential for that.

But I'm confused - if you are just mixing then applying the wax with the detergent - aren't you just putting down your wax on top of the dirt? Shouldn't the wax be applied after the cleaning AND initial rinse?

How much wax are you using?

And does wax on concrete make much difference?

Thanks for the answers. :)

We have wax included in our housewash mixture that we also x-jet on - no chems through our pumps! John and others of us subscribe to the work smarter not harder concept - We use Steve Rowlett's products, his recipes - with great results. Wax is not an upsell chargewise, it is an upsell on our personal service.

Have you looked at getting an x-jet - you mentioned running chems or wax through your pump...

No - I do not currently use an x-jet, but I do have downstream injectors. I've actually yet to run anything through my pre-pump system at all.

It would be best to not run chems thru your pump. Some do, and get away with it, but for house washing it is easier to use an xjet. The downstreamer generally will not draw a strong enough mix. The xjet can. I think most here that use one will tell you it's the best money you can spend on house washing equipment.

Pressure Force -

If you ever want to see anything in action, ie, x-jet, coress wand, certain chemicals, please just give us a call. Roger is more than happy to let you give something a test drive - sometimes that's better than just reading about it. Believe me, we're close enough to do this and far enough away not to step on each other's toes :)

Also, one other bennie to developing relationships with other PW aroundish you - bulk ordering of chemicals/stains if we're using the same stuff - saves money!

I can't contact you other than on the board since there's no info accessible - our contact info is below if you want to use it!
