I was wondering how many use a zero-tip...

I went to the mall about a year back, to the bran-new bookstore, and all over the bran-new walkway were these squirrelly marks from a zero-tip. I told my wife, "DAMN!! Look at this!!" Not even a pattern, just a bunch of circles and lines going everywhere.

A week ago, at the same mall, I was walking through the multi-level parking structure, when I came to the stairway, and there it was again!!

After that, I went to a friend’s apartment, and this time it's all the way up the sidewalk, but this time it had a side-to-side pattern.

Now that blew me away, I thought, until just yesterday I had a young guy come up to me at a job and say what do you want me to do? Need any help?

Kind of through me off guard... I told him, no, I'm O.K.

He said, are you sure? I'll just through on a zero tip and blast right through this. I practically puked!!

He then told me his whole family is into pressure washing and owns all kinds of rigs. I believe he is telling the truth because they bought 4-houses next to each other in the cut-da-sac and the Super knew who they were and confirmed it.

Bran-new cement, and he wants to zero-tip it? Not under my name.

I'll take some pics and post them; you won't believe it!!

There is a time and a place for everything. Nothing wrong with using a 0° on concrete, but not at close range and in open areas like you described. Inexperience on the user is to blame for those mishaps.

I use 0-tips,I can cut ya or knock you down withem.

I have them ranging from 4 to 15 all 3000psi rated,I use them mostly to slice/cut and knock mud off hy eqt. and farm eqt.Our mud would laugh at a 15 degree fan spray and no,I don't knock no paint off.

I used to fish and run around with two other contractors and the first one to see strips on concrete would say I see one of ya'll is lowballing the price again.

0 tips have their place but not in concrete cleaning. I never use them for this application. I do use them to take down hornets nests or remove mud from excavator or bulldozer tracks.

We use a 0 tip every once in a while on concrete. Then we go back with a fan tip and blend it so the concrete looks good. The 0 tip is good for blasting gum. We use the 0 tip mainly for cleaning heavy equipment.

I'm with Pat..... I rarely use a standard nozzle in my flat work. I use a Roto-Max in my curb work and for chiseling gum - - a surface cleaner for everything else......

I would never use a zero tip on concrete, even on gum, thats what heat is for. A zero tip on concrete in my opinion is quite amateur.

Must be the $10 an hour guy w/ home depot washer

I see this all the time. These idiots get their Home Depot washers and call themselves a pressure washing co. Ask them for their business liscense and insurance.

We use 0 degree on our surface cleaners.

Since we rarely do Sidewalks, Bld washes or Restaurants, we find that it is necessary for the cleaning of Multi Level Parking Structures.

Saw this company do this nice art work before the holidays. Been meaning to get by and speak to the manager. Today I finally had a chance to stop and there was still some "marks" in the concrete.

Zero degree tip all the way....

Anyway, went inside and introduce myself to the manager and he stopped my mid sentence and said that the property management group hired "them". I asked if he was happy with the work and he just said...it's not his problem....go figure!Hack 003.jpgHack 002.jpg

I've never used a zero degree tip for anything. Might be good for blasting a hole through plywood, or a nightcrawler twweker interfering with the crews scope of work at nighttime.

Amen Doug....I walked out of facility just shaking my head.

It's a huge strip mall that also has other anchor tenants. The only reason that I could think of why he had such a casual attitude about it was because a new MEGA Walmart opened up across the street recently....maybe they figure it is just a matter of time when they shut down????

Jim I have to acknowledge you on this one!!

Never say never guys!! You have to know the conditions upon which to use zero degree nozzles.
