a fungus among us Thanks for the advice. I did some serching and concluded that it is the artillery fungus and not from bugs. Bummed out, however, because my search suggests that there doesn't appear to be any way to remove it from the siding.

I have not yet found a cleaning agent that will break up the gunk left by bugs on my vinyl siding, which I assume to be fly or spyder eggs. This is lakeside location, so there are lots of insects. I'm power washing several times per year and still not able to cut through these small black dots...
