    Bright spot Problems

Stripped a PT Pine deck with sodium hydroxide (about 8% concentration). While wood was still wet (after washing) and dark, there were bright spots that looked like something had been 'splashed' on a few spindles. The stripper didn;t affect it. The customer has a lot of plants and I was...

    Gererators

Hey buddy! Man you are bucking to load that trailer of yours down to the ground ! Anyhow, I got some knowledge about generators. Glen is on the right track about sizing. A good discertation on genset sizing is in thr Grainger catalog, however, I would not buy from Grainger unless they have a...

    Ready Seal POLL

    A) definitely. Due to the Lowes in my area taking All Wolman products off the shelf (no volume for them), I decided to follow the ready Seal path this year. Bought $1300 of stock and just finished my first decks of the season with it (Sunbrite natural cedar). It is VERY user friendly. Sling...

    Renting Uniforms

Great postings, Jon. all of us have come from different places in life and have so much to offer others - many times we don't think we have anything to offer because we are 'newcomers' to the PW business. But all that living prior to becoming a 'wethead' does have value and we are appreciative...

    sodium hypochlorite and sodium hydroxide?

Keith, I believe you meant to say that you mix CHLORINE of 12.5% strength (pool supply house liquid chlorine) NOT sodium hypochlorite of 12.5% strength... Am I right?

    Nozzels

Stainless will wear out - standard nozzles are stainless and they do wear out. Why didn't you just use a zero degree tip - works for me. The downstream injector ought to work if you are operating within the parameters of this type of device which is that you need at least a 20% pressure drop...

    Recoil Starting RK-21

I figured this out a long time ago and just used it again today. Every once and awhile, the battery goes dead on my RK-21 so I have to pull start it. HINT ! Remove the kill wire from the oil pressure switch under the engine. You'll never get it to fire up with the recoil start becasue you...

    Trailer Brakes

Surge brakes are hydraulic and thus there are the maintenance issues of fluid, pistons etc. In order to back up (especially up hill) you have to mechanically lock out the braking system so the brakes are not applied as you back up. (There are also electrically activated lock outs available for...

Tuff RK21, strong battery but wont key start

I had problems with the B & S starter solenopid on my RK-21. Had it replaced by B&S under engine warranty but it crapped out again. IT IS A CHEAP SOLENOID. Pitch the damn thing and go buy a Ford truck starter solnoid for about $6 and put it on there and forget about it.

    Supply Hose diameter?

I use a contractor grade 3/4" garden hose. Most normal garden hoses are only 5/8". If you are running no more than 150, a 3/4" should do most of the time. You really wont gain much by going to a 1" hose (and it costs more).

    Trailer Brakes

Not to mention that it is against the law in almost all states NOT to have a braking system on trailer og gross weight above 2000 lbs (some states 35)? Reason for this is that a breakaway braking system must be present if for some reason the trailer breaks away from the vehicle, it just doesn't...

    a new way fer me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Appropriate tounge weight for a trailer is approximately 10% of the total trailer weight. Anybody pulling a heavy trailer (over 2000 lbs) needs (and its probably a state law in your state) trailer brakes of some sort. An ideal situation is for the tow vehicle to weigh at least as much as the...

    Landa Unit

Geez guys, you sure are paying alot for a name. Listen, al these units are basically the same: an engine, a belt driven pump, and unloader, and a burner/coil unit. I not a salesman for either Rashco(Elite) or Tuff but you can get a quality unit that does exactly the same job for almost 1/2 the...
