    Oxalic Acid solutions

Ron, Actually by volume. So if you do the math, it works out that you use 4 oz per gallon. If someone would use more is there a change that the oxalic acid would go the other way and interfere with the coating? Just wondering Thanks Tom

    Oxalic Acid solutions

Just wondering what kind of solution everyone uses when mixing oxalic acid with water. I've talked to contractors that use 8 ounces with one gallon of water, which is basically a 6% solution. I think this is too high and could cause a problem with the finishing products. Any comments?

    Fence Questions

In my area there seems to be a lot of wooden fences being built. Next year I want to get involved in cleaning and finishing them. I've been a painter and deck finisher for years but I never really coated a fence. Is there a special way to price a fence? I know everyone has a different way...

    Question on Roof Cleaning

Hey Guys, I have a quick question. I have a customer that I have cleaned and sealed his deck for years. However, this year he wanted to know if I would clean his asphalt roof. A fairly simple roof to get up on. Safety is not a big concern. The big question is- what cleaner should I use? The...

    New Wolmans DeckStrip A L

I used the new stripper twice on saturday. I stripped a deck that had the extreme and another that had a acrylic paint applied to it. It worked good. Remember not to prewet the deck with water(instructions). Water must thin it down. We applied it to dry decks and then powerwashed. One...

    Trouble with Wolman F&P

I have been using the F&P for quite a while. I know it has more pigment than it had a few years ago. That's probably what you noticed. We used about 600 gallons last year and 700 two years ago and haven't had a problem. I'm not changing. Tom

    knots on cedar wood

Hey guys, This message is going out to all deck people who have coated cedar decks. If the deck has knots they usually turn white in less than a year. I know its not the fault of the sealer its just the wood. But, anyway I usually thin down a coat of my sealer and spot prime the knots and then...

    Wolman Extreme

Hi Rick, I have been using the Wolman Extreme for about two seasons. I thinks its great. My customers love it. I have not received any complaints. Its a tough finish that doesn't peel. caution- don't use a roller to apply. The first coat is the most important make sure it gets into the...

Hey Guys, Just wanted to put in my two cents. I have been doing decks for years. 85% of my decks are coated with Wolman and Super deck . I have a business in Pennsylvania. I get the hot weather, cold weather and snow. I use Wolman and Super deck because their the only ones I found to protect...
