Got a call from one of my jobs that is 1/2 done (deck) - wondering about WARRANTY!! AUghhhhh!!!!

I basically told them I will warrant what the paint manufacturer warrants.

For the Fence - CWF UV CEDAR (I only use this on fences)
$1200 job
"The Flood company warrants against defects in materials and workmanship of this product for six (6) months from the date of purchase. Any goods proved to be defective due to materials or workmanship will be replaced or the purchase price refunded. In no event shall the manufacturer be responsible for damages in excess of the purchase price."

For the Deck - Sherwin Williams Cuprinol Solid Stain
$800 job
"Cuprinol group will replace this product if it is shown to be defective within one year of the date of purchase. Does not include any labor or other incidental or consequential damages."

What would or do you guys do in situations like this? Thanks in advance!

That sounds like a good response.............what do you think your competition would say? I bet they would come up with nothing better..............

Sounds like a good response to cover yourself.I probably would have told them i will waranty the whole job for 6 month.If you did a good job it should hold up that long no problem,right.

I can't imagine only getting 6 months out of a fence sealer. I did my parents' fence in June 2009 and it's just now showing the first signs of wear.
For solid color sealers I offer 1 year, but I do occasionally get burned by it.
