Own Water Supply

I was wondering if anyone out there offers to bring their own water supply? If so, what do you use for the water storage as well as what pump do you use to drive the water supply to the pressure washer? I live in an area where everyone has well water and there are a good number of homes whose wells don't have 4 gpm refill rates. So, I thought it would be wise for me to consider the ability to bring my own. Oh... what is a realistic fee to charge for something like this?

All of our setups are trailer mounted with 200+ gallon tanks. We start filling from the homeowners supply upon arrival. By the time we have set up everything else we have good enough buffer to run our 9.6 gpm machine. If we had to haul water, the price would definitely go up depending on where we had to go to fill up and how many times.

If I am going to be working with well water, I prefer to bring as much of my own as possible. Since city water runs about $3/1000 gallons, I don't make it a big deal. I prefer to NOT run well water through my pump; it tends to be harder, dirtier and sometimes rusty. If I HAVE to use well water, having at least some water when I arrive allows me to work while filling.

I do not charge extra for bringing water unless I HAVE to bring it. (No water on site.) The charge will depend on the distance to fill, plus the time to fill. An average will be somewhere around $30 to $50 per 300 gallons. (the size of my tank.)

Thank you Celeste and John. Can you tell me what you use as a pump to drive the water from the tank to your washer. I'm looking for a recommendation on this one.

We always bring water, 1000 gallons. If we need more and the customer has city water available we fill on the job site. If they only have well or river water, we leave and pick up another tank full and they are billed for the time at the same rate.

Here is a picture of our equipment at a job that we hauled about 50,000 gallons of water. We can haul 3500 gallons with these two trucks and trailer.
