I want to verify something. Storm sewers are along the cubs with metal bars over them , correct? Storm water sewers also are along curbs and are wide openings with manhole covers on top , correct?

Lastly, are sanitary sewers ever out in the open ? When you are recovering and depositing into a sanitary sewer, where is the opening?

Typically but not always or everywhere, storm water runs in to drain inlets along side curbs, in some areas that runs to rivers, oceans etc.

In other areas it runs to a sewage treatment facility.

If you are unsure FIND OUT from local agencies.
