Excellent points and well taken. When we did our job it was
a 12x12....we were very careful and did not have high amounts
of the products....I can certainly see where there is always
room for concern...have two kids myself. Would be concerned
greatly about taking a big job where you would...
We live in a lake area...I called Wolman and talked to one of their
reps regarding using Wolman's Deck and Fence Brightener on
a dock...he stated that it is environmentally safe and shouldn't
harm the lakes critters. We did the dock, and I didn't see any
floating fish! Good Luck! Cam...
Right now we are doing some "surgical" marketing: we drive
through neighborhoods and write down addresses of those
with decks, fences, etc. and mail them a 4"x6" index card
(offering no coupon, discount)..just started doing this so
I'll keep you posted on the returns (if any). With gas...
Thanks Chris,
Now my next question; what' s the conversion rate from
Canadian to the American dollar! Just kidding, of course.
Your post was actually helpful. Now, how did you market
to these guys...go directly to manager or did you solicit by
phone, mail, etc. Thanks again! Cam...
Extreme
Haven't used Wolman Extreme yet but have used their other
products, (like the F&P and Brightener). Was considering
Behr or Flood for solid stains. Just wanted to add to your
question: What are the best acrylic/oil based solid stains
out there?
Would appreciate some pricing methods and average rates
to power washing auto dealerships autos. What kinds of
Products do you recommend for the job and any other info
such as techniques, etc. Thanks ahead of time!

We've tried various other cheaper brighteners that
also contained oxalic acid but must say that Wolman's
truly is the best we have found as it is more gel-
like and thus clings to the vertical surfaces better
than the others. You tend to get streaking with the
others as they are more liquid in...
I haven't found anything to take the green out of
pressure treated wood...it's probably not Algae, but
greening from the pressure treating process? Anybody
have any luck getting this kind of greening up? Ap-
preciate it!

Whatever you buy, be careful if you're going to buy
off of the net. If you do so, go with what these guys
on the board recommend. I bought off the net and did
get a cheaper price, but got no customer service. So,
if you go local, there is someone there to complain
or voice concerns to, but...
My brother-in-law is a "striper," does parking lots,
ball fields, etc. I remember he told me on small
areas he would charge by the linear foot and on big
areas like parking lots/spaces, he'd even charge on
a per space basis. Has forms he's built that he just
lays out and sprays in between...
Thanks guys,
Very low hours...bought late last season and about
10 jobs (mostly decks/fences). We've decided that's
our niche and really it's too much to lug around.
We simply don't need that much for the kind of jobs
we're doing. Probably going to sell and downsize to
something more...
What would you price a 1 year old, Tuff Industrial,
16HP,3000 PSI, 5gpm, coldwater, gas and belt-driven,
electric start, on wheels? 100' foot of hose and
wand with four nozzles included? Appreciate your
opinions!
