Hey guys, I tried the oxalic acid .. (8 oz to 1 gallon ) ratio .. it took off the red clay but didn't budge the rust stains ..

Anyway, I was wondering, after you mix the oxalic with water in your pump sprayer or whatever you use, and it's sitting in the sun, and all of that ... How long does the potency last for ? Does it degenerate when dilluted ? What about clorox as well ? I've been wodering if a fresh batch of clorx / water / soap is more potent than a stayle batch that just sits diluted in the chem. tank ? Let me know ..... Thanks fellas, your the best help I've had.

I have never had oxalic acid go bad. I'm not sure that it can. If oxalic didn't have an effect on the rust stains, then I would guess that you mixed it too weak.

As for bleach, if left in sunlight, in a clear container, it will break down. I keep my mix in dark 15 gal containers and don't have a problem unless I leave the cap off too long. Fresher is always better. Stay busy and you won't have to worry about it. lol
