Anyone ever wash a building that's 125 feet high??? I have to bid on one in a few days. I have not seen it yet.

The rental company I use has a 125 foot Genie lift. That will work, assuming I can have access to all sides of the building. Like I said......I have not seen it yet.

If there are spots a lift cannot reach........what are my other options?

Mike,
Thats pretty high up. That must be one awesome genie lift. If you think it can be done go for it. Thats my attitude. This might sound morbid but whats the difference falling 50' or 150' .......nothing.

Just be real carefull if you get it and use every safety precaution possible where there is just about zero chance of you falling, Such as harnesses and ropes. I would have a second guy on the roof to tie you off and work the rope. Thats the way we did it in the NAVY when it came to painting the ships which can be way over 50' above the water line and sharks swimming below eating the garbage that came out of the ship. Good luck and charge them thru the nose.

Mike,

There is no way I would go ten stories up in a cherry picker, and operate a power washer.

They could not pay me enough.......besides, I'd probably throw up, because I really don't like heights......[puke]

Guys come on now, do you enjoy riding roller coasters?

What is a little height, best way to not let it worry you is don't look down, keep your mind on the job and the end results and you will be ok.

Mike if you get this job have someone with a telephoto lens snap pictures of you working and post so we can all see ya up there.

Ok so I am not scared of height, now if you ask me would I bungie jump, HELL NO, that is falling down and that I am scared of.

(I know it has nothing to do with the job)

Mike,
I think the only other option I can think of is pipe scaffolding, we used to use it when I was an industrial insulator at the shamrcok gas plant in north Texas and we'd go up that high with it and you can tie it off to the blgd. I think the Lift ( Telescopic boom) would sway a whole lot at that hieght if the wind picks up ?.........maybe a crane but its COSTLY, but at those hieghts its gonna cost any way. I think Clean Country is rite if your gonna use a lift make sure you use the proper fall aresst equipment, ie body harnass, lanyard ect

Mike,

Have you thought of a swing stage? I used to do glass work and we used 'em to install store-front glass on stories 5-16 on a 17 story building. It was kinda fun. Never been bungee jumping, Jon, but skydiving is a BLAST! Anyway, its usually at least a two man job([p2] ), also I don't know what getting water on the electrical might do... But hell, its the way I'd go. Just make sure your wife doesn't care[whip].

Mike a swing stage from the top of building would probably be the best way to go. the building is probably already set up for it. If you have ever been up in a lift more than 50 ft you know thats not the way to go. Its a spooky to say the least.

Very true, also once you start that fall there is no turning back or changing your mind, it is a done deal.
