Dan, are elk native to Pa? Is it a ranch or sactuary? I was thinking elk, but Pa threw me off, and I didn't want to sound like a weenie>really!
Great looking rod. I don't know ANYTHING about car restoration, but I do find it interesting. Been following the thread---Lookin' good!

I had a friend who took a trip (don't know where) to hunt elk. He came back and put them steaks on the grill. I would say the best wild game I've ever eaten.

A few years back, Conservation Dept. re-introduced Elk into PA, ARK, and KY. I've heard they are doing well--ARK. has been having limited seasons on them for a few years now. That is cool you get to see them every day!

NICE PROJECT! I agree, something about the scoops doesn't look quite right. Thing is, I cannot think of how to make it look better. Personally, I just like the look of the blower/intake/breather sticking out of the hood, with nothing over it. But wouldn't make for great daily-driving.

SCOTT--still waiting for DEMON pics!! Post them here! I am still looking for my 66' Chevelle, my dad has found one sitting at a farm, and he is supposed to inquire this week.

It is an excellent jerky as well. Of course, no one wants to jerky the whole thing but...25 lbs of "elk" jerky was not enough for me. very tender.

Sorry 'Bout the Pics!

Just in from plowing the new snowfall for spring, been at it since the last time I was here. My Dad is trying to find the "right" pics and will email soon.

Jon. my Demon pics are locked away in a damaged computer the brother-in-law is "working on". I'll grab a couple in a few and post them, car's in the garage, but I'd hate to have anybody think it was a figment. LOL
I hope you get that Chevelle up and going, they are harder to come by all the time. Seems like half of my buddies in high-school had them, now kids are stuck with winged fart-can sewing machines. LOL

Kinda embarassing to be in a big iron monster, and have a Subaru come roaring by with 340 horses and all wheel drive. No need to get oily, just be a computer programmer and go fast! What's the fun in that? I'm dangerously close to hijacking here, sorry Dan, I'll get those pics up as soon as I have them.

So tired... must rest... dump-truck waiting... [v]

Sorry For the Delay Dan

Here are some pics to help me explain myself. These are frenched tailights. They have been mounted below the limne of the surface of the sheetmetal in these fenders.

I would do a similar thing with your scoops, kinds like mounting them under the hood instead of on top, so that the original surface is only interupted by the hole in the scoops leading edge. Then if you were to look into the scoop, you'd see the duct leading to the filter and carb instead of just seeing the top of the engine.

Have I made myself any clearer?

I just like the original contour of the hood, and wouldn't want any bulges, but I like the idea of having a ram-air sort of effect.

BTW, I'm still hauling snow around a new-under-construction water treatment plant here, how'd your plowing go?
